Architectural excellence through creativity and close teamwork
Imaginative design, combined with commercial sense and close teamwork between you and the design team.
Our approach
Inspiring places that add long-term value
Our designers aim to make inspiring environments that add long-term value to every project, with a personalised service from the first idea to final completion.
3s Architects have been the catalyst for many sites throughout London and the south-western counties, as well as in Europe and overseas, creating successful projects where others fail. Our work with local developers ranges from quick, responsive feasibility studies to detailed planning applications and, often, full architectural services.
How we work
Four stages, from idea to completion
Refurbishing, extending or building a new home is a long but exciting journey. These steps keep planning and building smooth and effective, and we bring in our long-standing engineers, surveyors, suppliers and builders where they're needed.
Concept design
Initial design sketches and talking through the options you prefer, then finalising the ideas into the layout that suits you.
Planning
Scaled plans, a budget cost estimate and detailed planning application documents. 90% of our applications are approved.
Construction preparation
Detailed technical drawings, with quotations on the products you choose, ready for tender.
On site
If you want us there: coordinating everyone on site and monitoring the technical work.

Reinhard Alexander Weiss
Director
Reinhard graduated from the polytechnic school for architecture in Munich before a three-year postgraduate diploma in economics for the construction industry, and later completed his master's in architecture at Greenwich. From 1990 he worked at Schmidt-Schicketanz & Partner, soon becoming project architect for corporate clients such as DBV (German Civil Service Insurance) and AOK Health Insurance. He joined Stephan Raunfels Architects in 1993, working on the Museum of the 20th Century in Munich and the winning competition for the new German government building for MPs in Berlin.
In the UK he worked with ORMS on residential and commercial projects, then became an associate at Pringle Brandon Architects, responsible for commercial fit-outs and hotels. In 2000 he established the 3s architects partnership before setting up 3s Architects. His own homes, White House I and II, have been published in the UK's leading architectural magazines, on television and in two best-selling design books.
Paul Stanley
Associate director
Paul studied architecture at the University of Bath, the Technical University in Graz and the University of Sheffield. He joined 3s Architects in 2009, became an associate in 2013 and associate director in 2016. Before that he worked at ORMS, Building Design Partnership and Atkins.
His experience spans residential, mixed-use developments, schools, commercial fit-outs and retail, including new builds, invasive refurbishments and historic Grade I, II* and II listed buildings. At ORMS (2003–2009) his projects included a music department and student accommodation for Maidwell Hall preparatory school, the refurbishment of the Grade I listed Somerset Place in Bath, and the new façade of Primark's 499 Oxford Street flagship. At 3s he has led numerous residential and commercial schemes, and manages the team and oversees design in the studio.
